Release notes

Below is a breakdown of the show, with links to all the various items we discussed. It amazing to think we packed so much into a 30 minute show, but we hope to try out a lot more in the future. One of the great things about the podcast is that we talk about articles that YOU write; in fact one of our headline discussions was regarding a piece a user wrote. So remember to add all your content to Voice for the chance to have it featured on a future show!

The big news here was the East Midlands Exchange Event, which was facilitated by Merideth. It was her first ever event and she really demonstrated her leadership and organisation skills. Well done!

Also discussed in this section was a popular article written by Josh, which is ‘How to… Organise an Event’. If you are doing your Gold Arts Award, then this article will be invaluable!

What’s happening on Voice?

In this segment we discussed two big things that are happening on Arts Award Voice.

The first was the announcement of Artsbox: the new digital portfolio

The second topic became a surprisingly in depth subject regarding how people perceive subjects such as Media Studies and Photography. It was inspired by this great piece written by Voice user Roslyn Jones, titled Photography – a “soft” subject?

Interview with Josh Savage

While some of the chat we had with Josh is available in the podcast, it is only a snippet of the full 40 minute interview. The whole thing can be heard online, or is available to download separately on iTunes.

Josh was also kind enough to give us permission to use his song ‘Horoscopes’, which was used as the intro and outdo music. Below is a video of Josh performing it live.

All of his music, as well as tour dates and links to social media can be found by visiting his website

It was an amazing experience to record this first podcast, and I look forward to recording many more over the upcoming months.
